Bastion of Nine Gates
★★★★★ 4.7
This is the one our desk keeps arguing about. Bastion of Nine Gates is tower defence with a heavy strategy backbone: you don't just place turrets, you shape the path enemies take through your maze. A single tower moved one tile can change an entire wave's outcome.
The upgrade tree forces choices. You can't max everything, so each map becomes a small puzzle about resource priority. I replayed early levels several times just to test different routing ideas, and that replay pull is real.
On phone it plays beautifully in landscape, and pinch-zoom makes managing a crowded board comfortable. If you like thinking a few waves ahead, this is a keeper.
What we liked
- Deep maze-routing decisions
- Upgrade tree that forces real trade-offs
